 --Jeff Austin, Rudy Gay's agent, said he and the Grizzlies broke off contract negotiations, so Gay will likely become a restricted free agent next summer. Gay, a 6-8 forward, has been in talks with the Grizzlies since July, when the free agent period began. He led the team in scoring (18.9 points) and steals (1.24) for a second consecutive season in 2008-09. Austin wouldn't say how far apart the sides are and advised Gay to focus on playing ball. "I told him to go out and win as many games as you can for the Memphis Grizzlies," Austin said. "And that's not going out and putting up personal numbers. Win games. Go out and help make the team better." Austin did say that the speculation that Gay is seeking a five-year deal worth $50-60 million is "absurd." --The Grizzlies went 45-of-99 from the field and had three players with 20 or more shot attempts. They were F Zach Randolph (12-for-21), F Rudy Gay (9-of-23) and G O.J. Mayo 9-of-20. --The Grizzlies hate Arco Arena. They have lost 26 of 28 games there.
