--The Grizzlies have already given up 40 points to an opposing player three times in seven games this season. So how do you solve that problem? Griz guard O.J. Mayo has a solution. "As a team, we've got to see that if one guy gets rolling, bring a double team and get it out of his hands," Mayo said.
--The Grizzlies are still chasing NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to help tutor their centers.
Griz owner Michael Heisley said both sides are trying to come to an agreement on how much time Abdul-Jabbar, 62, can spend with the Griz.
"It's a matter of how much time Kareem will give to us," Heisley said. "We're trying to come to an understanding of how Kareem will work. I want to make sure we're getting somebody who will give attention to these kids and help them.
"He wants to come and we want him to come. "It's really a question of whether he's got commitments that will keep him away from the team more than we'd like."
QUOTE TO NOTE: "At some point, we're going to have to have a conversation -- players only. We have to figure out what kind of team we want to be." -- Griz F Rudy Gay, on the team's disjointed play.
