PLAYER NOTES: --F Rudy Gay and G Kyle Lowry had the fourth year of their contracts picked up by the Grizzlies. G Mike Conley and G Javaris Crittendon had their third-year options picked up. All players are signed through the 2009-10 season.
Each player is still playing under his rookie contract, which calls for teams to consider options after two seasons.
Gay and Lowry will be eligible to negotiate long-term contract extensions following this season.
--F Rudy Gay and veteran G Greg Buckner are acting as team captains, but coach Marc Iavaroni said it's only on a five-game basis. The Grizzlies haven't officially named captains. "I'm not ready to make a decision on permanent captains," Iavaroni said.
