Memphis Grizzlies Roster Report 2009-12-05

Memphis Grizzlies Roster Report 2009-12-05ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Mike Conley, Shooting guard O.J. Mayo, Small forward Rudy Gay, Power forward Zach Randolph, Center Marc Gasol. Bench -- Guard Sam Young, Guard Jamaal Tinsley, Center Hasheem Thabeet, Forward DeMarre Carroll, Center Hamed Haddadi, Guard Marcus Williams.

PLAYER NOTES:

--Rookies Hasheem Thabeet, Sam Young and DeMarre Carroll combined for 15 points, 11 rebounds and five assists off the bench.

"Our three rookies came off the bench in the second quarter and I liked the havoc they created," Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins said. Thabeet had four points, five rebounds and blocked two shots in 16:41 of playing time.

"We expect Hasheem to rebound and guard the basket," Hollins said. "He's getting better and better, and I liked the effort I saw (Friday night). But he has to raise his level up two or three notches and show the consistency I saw in this game."

--G O.J. Mayo hit his first six shots, had 14 in the first quarter and finished with 25 points (17 in the first half).

"My teammates did a great job of moving the ball, made the defense move and got me open shots," Mayo said. "I just wanted to knock them down."

--F Zach Randolph got his 12th double-double and he almost did it with strictly offensive rebounds. Randolph had 24 points and 15 rebounds, nine on the offensive end.

MEDICAL WATCH:

--F Darrell Arthur is out for four months after surgery to repair a partially torn pectoral muscle.
