ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Mike Conley, Shooting guard O.J. Mayo, Small forward Rudy Gay, Power forward Zach Randolph, Center Marc Gasol. Bench -- Center Hasheem Thabeet, Forward Demarre Carroll, Center Stephen Hunter, Guard Marcus Williams, Guard/Forward Sam Young, Center Hamed Haddadi. PLAYER NOTES: --G Mike Conley hopes Tuesday's win swings the average NBA fan in Memphis toward rooting for the Grizzlies, and not the opponent.
"It's a big downer when you hear them cheering for LeBron (James) and Kobe (Bryant) and those guys," said Conley, who had 12 points and five assists. "The more we play together and the more we work hard and win games in front of them, I think we'll win them over and they'll get on our side."
Conley did his part, hitting the game-winning basket with three seconds left.
--F Zach Randolph had a monster game with 32 points and 14 rebounds, leading the Grizzlies second half charged that included a 42-point third quarter,
"At halftime, we told ourselves if we wanted to win this game, we had to get back on defense and not put our head down," Randolph said. "This was a confidence building game."
--C Hamed Haddadi did a nice job of filling in for Marc Gasol, who was in foul trouble a lot. Haddadi's up and under move against Cavs' center Shaquille O'Neal resulted in a two-handed Haddadi dunk.
"He played well, he gave us what we needed," coach Lionel Hollins said. "I'm proud of the way we've bounced back from the poor start (1-8) this season.
